This is Fariyal
Fariyal is currently the Chef de Cuisine at Hav & Mar in NYC. When she's not creating memorable dishes behind the line, you can see her on national television shows including Food Network's Chopped, Alex vs America and Supermarket Stakeout.

Fariyal is from Ethiopia, a culture that she is very proud to represent through her cooking and style. Although she earned a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Child Psychology, Fariyal's passion kept leading her to the hospitality world. She decided to pursue her dream and traveled around the world, visiting 18 different countries - eating, cooking and absorbing their cultures. Eventually Fariyal's path led her to the Culinary Institute of America where she honed her skills.

Fariyal worked at the World's 50 Best and three-Michelin-star eatery, Noma, in Copenhagen. Following this once in a lifetime experience, Fariyal went on to be the culinary manager at five locations for Hillstone Restaurant Group where she learned exceptional management skills and culinary operations.

In 2023, Food Network announced Fariyal on its "Hot List" - an annual look at exciting food personalities and up-and-coming culinary rock stars making their mark in the food content space.

Fariyal's dishes tend to include nods to her Ethiopian roots and have been featured in spaces such as the Met Gala and Vogue.
